Performance
The 2023 Subaru Outback provides phenomenal performance with its two available powertrains. The first is a standard 2.5L four-cylinder engine making 182 horsepower, and the second is an optional 2.4L turbocharged four-cylinder with 260 horsepower for an increasingly impactful drive. Both powertrain options join a continuously variable automatic transmission that functions similarly to an eight-speed automatic. All-wheel drive is also standard, providing balance to the SUV. Acceleration with the standard powertrain is excellent and even quicker when the turbocharged version is equipped.
Off-road capabilities are great due to a ground clearance of 8.7 inches. The Outback performs fervently in challenging situations - such as navigating through mud, snow, rain, and uneven terrain. If you want to take this to the next level, try the Wilderness model. The latter model increases ground clearance to 9.5 inches and maximizes suspension while adding skid plates to protect the SUV. Versatility also increases due to included Snow and Mud driver modes.
Drivability is smooth and fun, and the advanced suspension system allows Natick drivers to perform confidently on and off the main roads. Steering is precise and reactive, providing a distinct edge to the 2023 Subaru Outback. Sportiness may not be at the forefront of the Outback, but it replaces this strength with innovative versatility and a relaxing drive - something that Subaru enthusiasts will appreciate and enjoy.
